**sniff**sniff**

Today is a first . . . Ellie's first bad cold.
So far in her young life she has had 1 minor cold that didn't seem to bother her too much and a mild case of roseola. (Go breastmilk!!)
But after a few days of copious amounts of snot and lots of coughing, she definitly isn't feeling well.
And too make matters worse, mommy caught it too.
Thank goodness for Gramma Laura who came over yesterday and made us chicken soup.
And thank goodness for Ma-pop who spent the day taking care of us today.
Hopefully, this won't last too long!
. . . . . . A word about snot:
I can't believe how much snot this little toddler can produce. YUK!
Kleenex is going to make a fortune on us!!!

Just like Jules . . .

My side of the family, the Ocampo's, like to joke that our family instrument is the kazoo. It really goes with any song and any occasion!

I can remember when Jules was about Ellie's age he picked up the kazoo and knew right what to do. We were all amazed that instead of blowing into it, like a whistle, he knew to hum.

Here is proof Ellie is just like her cousin Jules.

More shoe love!

Playing with shoes is truly Ellie's favorite activity!!
She walks over to my closet pulls out her favorite pair (usually the bright yellow flats) and struts around the house looking very proud of herself.
Here she is with our friend Quinn. When she needs help with balance she holds out her little hand. So cute and very ladylike!
Even a set of pots will do the trick!!!

Flashback to a sunny day

Today, is an anniversary of sorts. On February 11th 2005 Drew and I got engaged. That day was a beautiful, balmy winter day, just like today.
Drew had said "Why don't we take a ferry ride across Elliott Bay . . . just for fun."
I have to say I was pretty suspicious. I knew he would pop the question sooner or later and I was hoping for sooner!
The trip was filled with one mishap after another
. . . We got stuck at some train tracks and missed the ferry. Normally, it would have been no big deal but on this occasion I started to cry!! I didn't want Drew's plans to be messed up and prevent him from proposing! I can't imagine what he thought of me . . . so emotional over missing a silly ferry!
. . . We ended up catching another ferry but as we were standing in line a pair of plastic wineglasses fell out of his jacket pocket. On any normal occasion I would have grilled him to find out why in the world he had glasses in his pocket. But this time I certainly didn't want to spoil the mood so I just excepted his lame excuse of "just in case we get thirsty."
When the boat finally left, with the sparkling Seattle skyline in the background, Drew got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.
And here we are 4 years later, on another sunny February day, with our baby girl!

Poor Daddy

Drew had a motorbike accident this weekend and ended up with a separated shoulder!! :(
Luckily, the orthopedic surgeon said it's a 90% chance that he won't need surgery!
But he will be spending the next few weeks in a sling.
Ellie has been very concerned about her daddy. She kisses and pats his sling . . . so cute!

Ham

Ellie has a habit lately of stepping up on MaPop and BaPops hearth and putting on a little show. If any of you knew me as a little girl this may bring back memories!!
What a ham!!!
