On the road again . . . again

Tomorrow we are headed off to Seattle for a visit. Ellie is going to be the most seasoned traveller!

She's already been to 3 states before she even 3 months old!

Ring Play

Ellie's 3 month milestone is to grab and hold onto a toy. We have been practicing this with a black and white ring. Most of the time she holds onto the ring for a few minutes, bangs herself in the face with it then lets go.

Napa Valley

Our trip to Napa Valley was a whirlwind. We left at 5 am on Friday and got home last night at 11:30pm!!! Ellie was a trooper through it all! She was passed around to all the adoring ladies and luckily never made a peep during the speeches.

One of the events was a wine tour and fabulous lunch at the Francis Ford Coppola winery. It was beautiful! And once again I'm SO glad Ellie loves her sling. It made it so much easier to pack her around all weekend.

Early Morning

We're off to Napa Valley for a conference for Drew's work. Let's hope Ellie's good mood for traveling continues!! I'll post pics when we return on Monday.

Chatty Baby

Ellie seems to really like the sound of her own voice!! I love this video of Ellie and Drew having a chat.

Doctor Visit!!

Today, Ellie visited her doctor for her 2 month check up (a little late because we were still on Christmas holiday when she turned 2 months)
Everything was great!! She weighs 11lbs 3oz and is 23 1/4 inches long (that's in the 50th percentile for height and weight)
She is meeting all her milestones like smiling and cooing (but we knew that already!)
Unfortunatly, she also had to have immunizations, which meant 3 shots!! She definitely let the nurse know she didn't like her one bit by a swift high-pitched scream!! Luckily, she calmed quickly and by the picture above you can tell she didn't hold a grudge!

Ellie the Wood-Block

This is Ellie's favorite game!! Daddy taps her nose, chin and cheeks and makes a sound like a wood block. She just thinks it's hilarious.

Snow Day!!

We woke up to 2 inches of snow today! Since Ellis is still too young to go sledding we don't have a new pic to post.

But my friend Jenny sent these cute photos she took when we were back home. I love how she antiqued them on the computer. Thanks Jenny!

Ellie-Jump-Up

This week Ellie has learned how to stand up straight while being held. She definitely needs support for balance but her legs are SO strong. And now she's decided standing is way more fun than sitting.
We decided to try out her Johnny-Jump-Up (even though it says for 4 months and up).
Well, she was a little unsure about the whole thing. She gave it a few bounces but her head control isn't quite good enough yet. Guess we will put it away and try it again in a few more weeks.
She sure looks cute though.

Shake it

So many changes this week! Ellie is really starting to hold onto things. Here she is with her rattle made specially for her by Grandpa Jon.
We also bought her a fish tank for her crib. It plays soft music, bubbles and has little swimming fishys. Her crib is such a happy place, hopefully, she will decide to sleep in it for longer than 15 minutes at a time :)

Baby Love

Daddy and Ellie having a chat.

What are these kind of kisses called? Eskimo? Oh well, they sure are a cute pair!

Kisses from Mommy.

Ellie thinks her Daddy is sooo funny.

Rock on, Dad.

Violet Eyes!!!

When Ellie was born her eyes were a dark slate blue but since newborns eyes often change color we have been waiting impatiently to see what color they turn out to be.
Drew has bright light blue eyes and mine are green.
So far Ellie's are VIOLET. The prettiest shade of purple-y blue.

Shhhh . . .

Ellie actually laid down in her crib for the first time this week!!
She has been sleeping in her bouncy chair, in the co-sleeper or in bed with us and her crib has been a clothing storage unit. But after cleaning up her room I decided to see if she would nap in it.
She seems to like it! Today she slept in it for 40 minutes! We have a little mirror hanging on the side and when I heard her cooing, I went in and discovered she was laughing at herself.

Playing Dress Up

When I packed for Christmas vacation back in December, I thought I would take her smallest outfits because she would probably grow out of them before we got home. Well, she must of had a major growth spurt because she grew out of them in about the first week we were there!!!
So we actually had to buy her some new clothes!!! Can you believe it?? The kid with tons of clothes!
So today I got out her 3-6 month clothes and went through them. She has so many cute outfits. Can't wait to play with my little doll.

Suds & Bubbles

Ellie is just so much fun to play with. Bath time has certainly become playtime.
She is starting to pull up her legs, it won't be long till she's nibbling on her toes.

Ellie looks a little unsure of her hairstyle.

So far Ellie loves to sit on my legs during bath time but she's still a little unsure of being more submerged. Tonight she liked it though and even gave a little smile while she was swimming.

Giggles & Smiles

Ellie and I arrived home today. She was an angel on the plane again. We are happy to be home and Drew missed us a lot! She is going to a seasoned traveller quickly because we are headed to Napa, CA in 2 weeks and back to Seattle in 3 weeks, then up to Campbell River to meet the rest of the family. Good thing she is happy to just hang out with her parents even if that is on an airplane :)

More Fabulous Family

This week Ellie met more of her cousins, Owen and Caitlin and her Uncle Bill and Aunty Muriel. While they were all here we went down to my cousin Anne's for another visit with the kids.
Caitlin and Quade snuggling Ellie.

Quade calls Ellie . . . Ellie Belly.

Roddie Lee is only 10 years old but she was a born nurturer.

Hannah and Quade playing hair salon. Check out Quades cool doo!

Belated Santa Pic

Had to post her Santa pic!!! Isn't it cute!

Ellie is Cooing!!!

Ellie is 2 months old. She is growing and changing so much.

She weighs about 11lbs now! Just in the last couple days she has started to coo and make cute sounds. She looks so surprised those high pitched noises are coming out of her mouth.

She is sleeping about 2-3 hours at a time at night and loves to be held and snuggled.

This video is a little long and the best part is at the beginning but I didn't know how to edit it :)

(Sorry for the sparse postings but we're still out here in Seattle and have been SO busy.)

Fabulous Friends and Family

We have had so much fun showing Ellie off to our family and friends . . .

My cousin, Quade (4 yrs.), was so excited to see Ellie. He was counting down the days until he could come and see her.

Future baby-sitter, Roddie Lee (10 yrs.), was so good with Ellie.

My friends from nursing school have started having babies! Here is Karen with Ellie, her daughter Alister (19 mo.) and Darcy's new baby, Lucy (4 mo.).

My best friend, Sarah, couldn't wait to get her hands on Ellie.

This was the cutest photo-shoot yet! Ellie and Lucy sat together so nice. Lucy even gave Ellie's hand a taste. Can't wait till they can have play-dates together.
