Funny Face

Ellie new tricks this week are standing, walking with help and funny faces. Lately, when I go to sit her down on the floor she stiffens out her legs because she only wants to stand! Mum got her a push toy at the g-sale and she loves to walk behind it. We have to hold her for balance but it's amazing how she is moving her feet so well now! I think she may just skip the crawling and go straight to walking.

Ellie is still a great eater! She eats lots of fruits and veggies, chicken, steak, tofu and beans.

Lately, she has been reaching for the spoon to feed herself.

Beach Baby

In addition to eating sand, while up in Canada last week, Ellie had her first ocean "swim."

It was so hot that the shallow water was like warm bath water.

Ellie, the 8 month old!

Ellie is 8 months old today! That sounds like such an old baby!

At a pediatrician appointment last week she weighed in at over 16 pounds, which puts her in the 50th percentile. She sits up all by herself . . . stands without assistance when holding on to something like her crib railing . . . she's developing her pincer grasp and can pick up small peices of food (and sometimes even gets them in her mouth!) . . . but she's certainly making no moves to crawl (I have a feeling she may just go straight to walking).
